RUTH GRACE ZANETTI (Del Favero)
Ruth Grace Zanetti, formerly of 945 Oak Street, Negaunee died peacefully on July 17, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she was a resident for the past seven years.

Ruth was born in Carey, Wisconsin on July 22, l923 to Valentino and Regina (Zanella) Del Favero. She spent most of her younger years in Carey before moving to Negaunee where she graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1941. After graduation, Ruth moved with friends to Detroit. She worked at Henry Ford’s Trade School several years before moving back to Negaunee. Her days in Detroit were remembered fondly, and she spoke of them often.

On Aug 13, 1943, she married Narcheeso Zanetti. Ruth owned and operated Ruth’s Beauty Shop, which was located above her home. She worked as a hairdresser until she was in her eighties, enjoying her many clients who were also good friends.

Ruth was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Negaunee where she was a member of the Altar Society and Lady Druids. Over the years, Ruth enjoyed traveling, eating out with friends, painting, sewing, reading and spending long hours at her camp on Little Shag Lake. She made several trips to Italy, where she visited with relatives, and wintered often in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ruth loved to cook, especially Italian meals for others to enjoy. She loved being with her family and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. One of her favorite things to do was volunteering at the Eastwood Nursing Center. She looked forward to going there, mostly every Friday where she met so many wonderful people.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Diana (Gene) Parlato of Gwinn; her son Gary (Gail) Zanetti, also of Gwinn; four grandchildren: Jodi Crist, Brad (Shannon) Parlato, Angela (Dave) Sharkey, and Ryan (Michelle) Zanetti; six great grandchildren: Traver Parlato, Bailey Crist, Anthony Parlato, Dylan Sharkey, Drake Sharkey , Max Zanetti and Mia Zanetti; nephew: George (Gail) Torreano; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Ducoli Sr.; her husband, Narcheeso Zanetti, and sisters, Vera Torreano and Mary Ducoli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 20th at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am at the church on Friday. A luncheon will follow in the St. Paul Gymnasium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Ruth’s memory to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.
