Obituary for CLARENCE EARL "Bud" PINKERTON

CLARENCE EARL "Bud"  PINKERTON
Clarence Earl ‘Bud’ Pinkerton, 83, of Red Fox Trail, Marquette and Englewood, FL passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 1, 2018 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, FL with his loving family at his side.

Bud was born May 8, 1934 in Royal Oak, MI to Edward and Margaret (Loewe) Pinkerton and graduated from Royal Oak (Dondero) High School, Class of 1952. He was employed for 37 years with Western Electric/AT&T in upper management until his retirement. After his retirement, Bud continued to work in the telephone industry doing contract work for the next 5 years.

Mr. Pinkerton was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee and St. Francis of Assisi, Englewood, FL.

Bud’s love for the outdoors included camping with family and friends, gardening, fishing, boating and sailing. He was a self-taught sailor who sailed the Great Lakes, including trips from Pentwater, Michigan to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His sailing highlight was his month-long journey from Pentwater, Michigan through the Chicago River, down the mighty Mississippi and Tombigbee Rivers to the Gulf of Mexico delivering a 38-foot sailboat. His love and dedication to his wife, children and grandchildren was without fail.

Surviving are his loving wife, Margene D. (Ruesing) Pinkerton; son, Michael B. Pinkerton and wife, Mary; daughter, Renee Ollmann and husband, Timothy and daughter, Jacklyn Schroeder; grandchildren: Nicole Pinkerton, David Van Driel, Kimberly Van Driel, Jacob Pinkerton, Andrew Schroeder and Michael T. Pinkerton; sister, Jeannie (Pinkerton) Winterstein; brothers-in law, Jack Winterstein and Fran Ruesing; brother and sister in-law, Jack and Barbara Perala; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Pinkerton; and brother, Donald Pinkerton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 12th at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee with Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. and also at a luncheon in the St. Paul School Gymnasium immediately following services at the cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael B. Pinkerton, Timothy Ollmann, Kimberly Van Driel, Jacob Pinkerton, Andrew Schroeder and Michael T. Pinkerton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Bud’s memory to Tidewell Venice Hospice House, 210 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL 34293 and The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
