Sharleen Delores Hill, 88, of Negaunee Township, passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning, March 31, 2018 in the care of her loving family.

Sharleen was born June 15, 1929 in Ishpeming to George and Bertha (Mantila) Hill and graduated from Ishpeming High School. Following graduation, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Michigan University and was employed as a gym teacher for Negaunee Public Schools for over 30 years.

Following retirement, Ms. Hill enjoyed painting and was a self-taught artrist. She loved gardening and being outdoors, most especially spending time at the camp on Lake Michigamme. In her younger years, she was an avid horse racer alongside her niece, Leslie.

Surviving are her nephew, Greggory Hill of Arizona; great nieces: Tiarra (Nick Lehtinen) Stephens and children, Hunter and Nevaeh, and Nicole St. Aubin and her children, Landen, Alyiana and Drezdin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Roland Hill, and her niece, Leslie (Hill) Stephens.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 13th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Koskey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that any memorial considerations be directed to the family at 3 Boulderwood Ct., Negaunee, MI 49866 in order to help with final expenses.
