Betty J. Niemisto, 94, lifelong Negaunee resident, passed away Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
Betty was born September 30, 1923 in Negaunee to John and Agnes (Remley) Sleeman and graduated from Negaunee St. Paul Catholic School, Class of 1941. She married the late Toivo Niemisto and together they raised four children. Betty was a loving and devoted homemaker.

Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Toivo Niemisto, in 1985; her son, Dennis Niemisto; great-great-granddaughter, Mia Rose Skewis; her sister, June Lenten; and three brothers: John, Ralph and Kenny Sleeman.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 15th at Koskey Funeral Home with Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating.
