Obituary for ANTONE JOSEPH MILJOUR

ANTONE JOSEPH  MILJOUR
Antone J. ‘Tony’ Miljour, 79, of Nicholas Ave., Palmer, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 21, 2017 at UP Health System-Bell with his loving wife at his side.
Tony was born March 7, 1938 in Palmer to Edward and Emma (LeBresh) Miljour and graduated from Negaunee St. Paul High School, Class of 1956. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served four years. Following his service to his country, Tony married Darlene Whitford on April 29, 1961 and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage together.
Mr. Miljour was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Palmer and was a former member of the Richmond Township Fire Department. He was employed with Cleveland Cliffs Inc. for more than 30 years, beginning at the Eagle Mills Pellet Plant and retiring as a shift foreman from the Empire Mine.
Surviving are his loving wife, Darlene Miljour; three daughters: Laurie Heggaton of Palmer, Rene (Jay Campbell) Swanson of Harvey and Denise (Cory) Arbelius of Palmer; his sister, Jean (Bob) Ayotte of Palmer; grandchildren: Heather (Jeff) McRae, Travis (Kymber) Swanson, Taylor (Leland) Nellist III and Kara (Raymond Borghi) Heggaton; great-grandchildren: Colleen and Zachary McRae; Elliot Nellist and Ava Borghi; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward Miljour; and a sister, Elaine Hytinen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 26th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Palmer with Rev. Greg Heikkala officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends for one hour prior to Mass at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Tony’s memory.
