Obituary for ANTOINETTE LOUISE FAIRBANKS (MAI)

ANTOINETTE LOUISE  FAIRBANKS (MAI)
Antoinette Louise (Mai) Fairbanks, 86, of Fountain Hills, AZ, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2017 at UP Health System - Marquette.

Antoinette was born and raised in Princeton, Michigan and graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1948. Following graduation, she moved to Ypsilanti, MI where she was employed as an executive secretary for Ford Motor Co. Most recently, she assisted her husband in the operation of Red Fox Run Golf Course.

Antoinette met David Fairbanks in 1950 and their journey together lasted for over 67 years. Their 62nd wedding anniversary would have been August 27. Besides Michigan, Antoinette lived in Colorado and Arizona. Even though she moved to other areas, every year Antoinette would make her annual trip back to Princeton. Most recently, she assisted her husband in the operation of Red Fox Run Golf Course.

Antoinette will be remembered for her quiet gentleness, her love for her family, and her strong will. Antoinette loved traveling. She enjoyed being able to travel to Hong Kong, China, Switzerland, Italy, England, Monaco, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and fishing in Alaska. She also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play cards with family and friends.

Antoinette is survived by her husband, David, children Kathryn (Daniel) Heydlauff, Bruce (Linda) Fairbanks and Gary (Jessica) Fairbanks, grandchildren Christopher (Kim) Heydlauff, Gregory (Jenn) Fairbanks, Sara Heydlauff, Laura Fairbanks, Mark (Danielle) Fairbanks, Cole Fairbanks and Gabrielle Fairbanks. Antoinette also had two great granddaughters, Riley and Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Margaret (Mai) Gobert and Mary Ann (Mai) Harahus.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) or St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Gwinn.

Honoring Antoinette’s wishes, private graveside services will be held.
