Gossard Co. in Gwinn, and also worked as a freight clerk for J.J. Newberry in Ishpeming.
Mrs. Lehtinen was a member of Community Lutheran Church, Suomi Location and the Ladies Guild. In her free time, she enjoyed being outdoors: working in her flower garden, camping with her family, spring yard cleaning and burning brush, and taking her saunas. Anita enjoyed traveling and made four trips back to her native homeland in Finland, and also loved traveling in the United States with her family.
Surviving are her children: Judith (Wayne) Charbonneau of Ishpeming and Alan Lehtinen of Midway Location; her brother, Reino (Florence) Kestila of Ishpeming; three grandchildren: Amy Lynn Charbonneau, Tracee Ann (Joel) Kauppila and Jason Paul (Maryellen) Charbonneau; four great-grandchildren: Ian Kauppila, and Alexis, Ali May and Maggie Charbonneau; numerous nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leslie on December 23, 2000; and her brother, Hugo (Nancy) Kestila.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 28th at Community Lutheran Church, Suomi Location, with Rev. Douglas Norquist officiating. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 3:00pm until the time of services at 5:00pm at the church on Wednesday and also at a dinner in the church fellowship hall immediately following services.
